Ukiyo-e has far-reaching influence on impressionists and post-impressionists of France in the middle and the last of nineteenth century.This influence has played a big role in the transfer process of western art from realism to modernism.Ukiyo-e not only provided a selectable way for the development of Europe painting style,but also helped vanguard artists put their "theories of rebel" into effect.The occur of this cultural exchange of east and west has its penetrating reasons,just for these reasons,Ukiyo-e has occupied exclusive place in the course of the development of western art.We will make a concrete analyze of these reasons in the text.Through contrasting the influence of western painting style on the Japanese art world which happened almost in the same period,we shall found that in the receiving process of cultural exchange,there are some similarity.
