Cao Zhi, who is well known as "the most famous writer of Jian an period", and his literary achievements catch most people's attention from ancient tunes to modern times. Zhong Rong shipin traces the source of the style of Cao Zhi's poems to Guo Feng--one part of The Book of Songs. From then on, this kind of view is considered authoritative when later generations probe into Cao Zhi's literary creations especially his poetry. As a famous writer, Cao Zhi is certain to inherit excellent literary achievements from the former people in many aspects. As the most famous literary works before Qin Dynasty, The Book of Songs and The Songs of the South indubitably make a tremendous impact on the later literature and writer including Cao Zhi. Therefore, besides The Book of Songs, The Songs of the South especially the literary creations of Qu Yuan also influence Cao Zhi's literary works profoundly. Both the ancients and the modern people mentioned or discussed the impact of Qu Yuan on Cao Zhi to different extent. This thesis tries to comparatively deeply analyse The Songs of the South especially Qu Yuan's influence on Cao Zhi and Cao Zhi's inheritance and development from Qu Yuan based on the former people's research achievements from the following aspects: the creation spirit of "expressing emotions by indignation", the creation techniques of bi xing and emblem , the creation themes of intoning objects and fairyland roving, the literary form of "jiu" and "sao". Among the above mentioned aspects, the thesis proposes some immature views , especially in the literary form--the last aspect.
