Belief is a kind of spirit activity which people praised and canonized extremely. It is also taken as spirit repose and behavior principle by people. Belief can be classified variously according to the difference of classification. As to the difference of consciousness, belief can be divided into rational belief and nor-rational belief. Philosophy is a kind of rational belief. Though people's needs are various, both material need and spirit need are contradictory on limitedness and limitlessness. As the part of spirit needs which exceeds limitedness and courts limitlessness, belief provides human being with end care. Belief affects individual and society positively and revolted at the same time. Belief models personality for individual and connets centripetal force for society, The change of society always leads to great transform to social life and great lash to belief as well. Acted as a certain "belief crisis", it owes to the influence of the international environment and China itself at the special time as well. Since that belief is the nucleus of value-conception, "belief crisis" of a certain time can influence the change and progress of the society greatly. So the reconstruction of belief is important and urgent. Now the choices of Chinese society to belief includes the belief of China tradition, the belief of postmodern and the belief of communism. The belief of communism is a kind of scientific one, because it can keep the optimum state of balance between reality and ideal, individual and society, nor-rational and rational and it is based on the reality and directs to the future at the same time. So we can say it is our best belief till now and we must reconstruct the belief of communism. The dialectical materialism tells us that the change of material owns to the act of the internal cause and the external one together. So we must concentrate on the internal and external two aspects above to reconstruct the belief of communism. My thesis will give some suggestion for this.
