Wang Anyi's urban novels reflect her unique examination and observation to the modern urban life. The set of novels in Fairy Tales On the Roof can represent her revolted feeling or antagonism to modem civilization. Novella / love Bill symbolizes a dilemma of the modernization in Chinese cities. These thinking-feeling formation lays the keynote for Wang Anyi's urban novels, which is the critique and questioning to the form of modernization and questioning to the form of urban culture in the course of modernization.Through describing the city of Shanghai, Wang Anyi brought to light the ideal form of urban civilization existing in the space of urban-folk, which is a scattered, fictitious and memoried space in her art world. Through imagining and mixing this fictitious space, Wang Anyi put forward the essential factor in her ideal urban culture formation of our time, which is personal, daily and graceful.In fact ,this kind of solution raised poses a ideology in Wang Anyi's writing, which standard a series of features in Wang Anyi's urban novels : (1) From idea resources, Wang Anyi's urban novels ( give examples with theme of Shanghai )share the Left-wing tradition of Shanghai style literature and present this feature; (2)This ideology makes the author hold extreme form to examine at modern-day urban formation, thus highlights her critical consciousness.
