Poetic Compassion: Xiao Hong Narrative Analysis

As a female writer,Xiao Hong created a characteristic narrative in the field of historical discourses,which almost only belonged to male writers before.In her fictions ,there were great narrative about the country and thenation,such as The Ground of Life and Death,and elegant narrative about individuals as well,such as Biography of Hunan River March of the Small Town,etc.The apposition of the two different kinds of narrative expressed the female-consciousnessed writer's deep concern and reflection about the common people's living and life value.As we all know ,Xiao Hong has her own specific literature style.The themes and forms of her fictions are branded by her style,bearing specific literature character.So the key to this paper is to explore Xiao Hong's artistic world in the way of exploring her edition,to grasp the narrative mechanism of her fictions.This thesis consists of six main parts:1, The interspacial narrative structure of individual souls.Taking The Ground of Life and Death and Biography of Hunan River as examples ,We can find the fundamental structure of her narrative layers:With the writer's emotional masterstroke running through the whole fiction ,it represented the character's living in many ways in the contemporary space.2, Life-Death duality antagonistic narrative time .The essence of Life-and-death is time .The life-and-death duality antagonistic narrative structure eradiated a great significance space .The description of this significance space focused on the analysis of Xiao Hong's child-bearing and death narrative.Her later works adopted the recollective narrative to get the spiritual self-redemption and to find the lost paradise.She tried to represent people's revolt against the time and to represent the small potatoes'pursuit of individual's life value and dignity.This significance space was filled with widespread deep tragic consciousness. 3, The relation betweem irony narration and the poetic presenting .The irony narration is the main tactics for national nature criticism in XiaoHong's fictions ,the conscious application of irony enables her to disclose the intention of national nature criticism in more implicit and poetic aesthetic standards and methods,this is one of the reasons explaining the formation that Xiao Hong's novel linguistics gradually poeticizes.The article analyses the text principally from structural irony ,verbal irony and dramatic irony .4, Love narration-intense confrontation of soul and flesh.There is very little concerned with feeling and love themes in Xiao Hong 's fictions. Eventhough there is any indication of love ,it turns up with the love without sex or the sex without love,ending up with women's complete despair .In the analyses of absence of love narration,readers can perceive the author's complicated mechanism as female to some extent.5, Explanation of scenic narration.The peculiarities in Xiao Hong's literary linguistics lies in her scenic narration .This article is analyzing mainly from tragic implication of scenic narration ,poeticizing of common scenes and the surrounding'soacked with characters'.In explamng these scenic narrations we can find that this sort of particular lyrical literary form is not only applied to indicate events scenes but also a main media for metaphors and symbols . Scenic narration from the author turns to be a very important part of the context and not unnecessarily symbolic information functions.6, Gender characteristics of Xiao Hong's fiction narration.Gender characteristics , female common senses and narration originated from female bodies and experiences in the novel is doing nothing harmful to the literary essence but bringing very significant factors to Xiao Hong's most successful literary pieces.The article performs and describes the gender characteristics from prose,detailed,personalized and looking-inside narration specality together with repeated application of widowthis functional character semiotics.
