Owing to his birth background and the history and other causes as well, Mr Bai has experienced many acts of joys and sorrows, partings and reunions. Therefore, Mr Bai has ddopted bleak images, such as death, dusk etc. In his novel as the vehicle of his thought to express his reflections on life.Thirdly, the dialectical style of artistic expression. As for the style of expression, it can be realized through a number of perspective. Homever, this thesis will focus on the aspect of narration. The part is composed of two levels. One is the rhythms of narration, which demoustrate the uniry of opposites about tense and relaxation, the other is the pattern of narration, which will be expounded through the unity of opposites on symbolism and realism.
