On the basis of interdisciplinary research of political science, science of communication , sociology, information science, psychology, journalism andpublic opinion science-the rationale of political communication and thestudy of the political communication activity of the Communist Party of China in the initial historical period(1949-1956) of the People's Republic of China, the article aims at seeking for the objective regulations of political communication mechanism in the initial historical period of the People's Republic of China , offering enlightenment and experience for the current political communication in our country and pushing the development of political civilization.Firstly, the article makes an introduction to the synopsis of basic political communication theories and its domestic and international research conditions. Secondly, the article expatiates on the purpose, function, characteristic and the principle of political communication during the initial historical period of the People' s Republic of China. Thirdly, based on a great deal of historical data, the article analyzes in detail the communication control, communication contents, communication medium, communication audience as well as communication effect one by one. The article holds that the political communication, controlled effectively by the Communist Party of China in the initial historical period of the People' s Republic of China, has achieved a good result through the efficient use of all kinds of medium and guaranteed emollient with every kind of route, way, policy that facilitated the party to put them smoothly into practice. The article ends with five conclusions.
