The chenwei was the important phenomenon in China's social history, it was once in fashion in the whole ancient society, had great influence on the politics and people's life at that time. Just because the close relation between it and politics, making augury documents been gone through since taking shape in Han dynasty and prohibited spreading and was destroyed, after Sui and Tang dynasty, it was totally lost. But the augury has not disappeared as a kind of culture phenomenon. But the augury has not disappeared as a kind of culture phenomenon, it continued to spread in the form of augury ballad. The Tang Dynasty was an important period that the augury ballad was developed. The augury ballad not only had nature of the augury like augury latitude, but also had its own characteristics. It had various lively form, it could be a song proverb of children's folk rhymes, could be poems, ditties, odes or songs, it even could be the languages of games of children sometimes; the content of which was extensive, involving politics, economy, war, society and so on. The circulation way was multifarious, sometimes they came from the mouth of children, sometimes they came from the poems. So the augury ballad became a social culture phenomenon which had extensive influence.The thesis which divides into four parts studies the phenomenon of augury ballad of the Tang Dynasty. Chapter one is introduction, expound the fact augury's development from chenwei to augury ballad, the basic conceptions of ballad augury and the augury ballad's content mainly. Chapter two Have described the ballad phenomenon of augury of the Tang Dynasty concretely in the forms of children's folk rhymes, augury ballad of stone engraving of inscription and augury of poem. The form of children's folk rhymes is the main form of the augury ballad of the Tang Dynasty, the content related to all respects of Tang Dynasty, such as politics , social, military, and personage. There are relatively little augury ballads in the form of stone engraving of the inscription , it is relatively peculiar. Though the augury of the poem is a kind of form of the augury ballad , it had obvious differences from the two other kinds of forms of augury ballad. It is a mutation form of the augury ballad . It has a lot of its own characteristics. On the basis of this, chapter three attempt to analysis the characteristics of augury ballad, These characteristics include the characteristic of augury ballad of Tang Dynasty, The manufacture method of augury ballad, etc.. The fourth part is the ending of the thesis.
