| Yu-pian, the first dictionary of regular script in our country, is of great importance in the history of dictionary compiling for it' s unique view about Chinese character radicals . Although Yu-pian lay the foundation for later regular script dictionary .people have not paid attention to it for a long time, this is caused by many factors .The thesis explores and discusses the radical system of Yu-pian and try to find how it arrange the characters in the system to make people know and study Yu-pian more deeply . From the above we can get valuable experience and lesson which can help us reform the radicals and compile dictionary better.The thesis starts with the present conditions of people studying Yu-pian, then recommends Yu-pian chiefly. The discuss goes on from two aspects .Firstly , the thesis analyzes the conditions that Gu Yewang deleted and changed the radicals of Shuo-wen , then summarizes the reasons , the achievements , and the lackes of these changes , in the end sums up the law of radicals developing and induces what we can learn from Yu-pian . Secondly how Yu-pian arrange the characters is studied. Yu-pian comprises all kinds of characters , such as gu-wen ( ) , zhou-wen ( ) , su-ti-zi ( ) , yi-ti-zi ( ) and so on .Gu Yewang made use of unique ways to arrange all these characters . For example, if one character can be extract radicals from many a angles , he put it into several different units . The method for dealing with gu-wen ,zhou-wen and yi-ti-zi is better than that of Shuo-wen .Unlike Shuo-wen , Yu-pian didn' t put them under other head characters, but looked themselves as head characters , and arranged them according to the radicals of themselves . If gu-wen zhou-wen or yi-ti-zi be put under different radicals , Yu-pian pointed out that now it is someone , and is somewhere to linkIthem together . On the foundation of discussion all the above , the thesis sumsup the achievement and lack of Yu-pian , then seeks the useful things that can helpus deal with the problem of how to arrange the characters in the course of compiling contemporary dictionary .The intention of radicals is changing with the age , this thesis aims at making people know the conception of radicals better and put forward opinion about the problem of how to arrange the characters , especially the unsemantic-plusphonetic characters .which perplexes the course of compiling contemporary dictionary .1 hope the thesis can give some help in reforming the radicals and compiling dictionary later . |
