This thesis makes researches into Hanlinyuan between the ages of Shun Zhi and Kang Xi, two emperors of the Qing Dynasty. With a detailed account of the origin, changes, posts, and other systems of this committee, the thesis focuses on the important role Hanlinyuan played and the great influence it exerted in the era of the early Qing Dynasty, a time with sharp conflict between the Han Nationality and the Man Nationality (which conquered the Han Nationality and established the Qing Dynasty in the early seventeenth century). In the last chapter, the thesis comes to a conclusion that Hanlinyuan not only served as a royal academic committee, but played an important role in politics as well. |
