Ancient Greek philosophy has given birth to the western philosophy for its particular social and historical conditions, rich cultural back ground and special geographical position. "Studying for truth" is the noblest idea of the ancient Greek philosophy; probing, studying and discussing nature is the basic content of the ancient Greek philosophy; plain and visual dialectic is the basic quality of the ancient Greek philosophy.The thesis has been divided into: the preface, the 1st part, the 2nd part and the 3rd part. The preface states generally and simply the characteristics of the ancient Greek philosophy, the clue of its development course, the relations between epistemology and logic as well as psychology, the object and method of epistemdogy. The 1st part of the text states the thriving conditions of the ancient Greek philosophy in its early days. The 2nd part states the philosophical thought of the ancient Greek philosophy during its booming times. The 3rd part states moral philosophy during its booming times. The 3rd part states moral philosophy during the late days of ancient Greek, including the philosophical thought during Greek and Roman period.Ancient Greek philosophy not only provides the base of the whole ideological systems and the western civilization, but also puts up the questions of the western philosophy and various ways of solving problems. Greek philosophy spruing up from mysticism and religious fairy tales, however, then returned to mysticism. Greek philosophy has no way to block the challenge from Christian thought, and even composes the origin of Christian idea.
