Public Image And Art

POP Art is an art form which appeared in the end of twentieth century 80s, the phenomenon of POP Art is complex. It is derived from combining the cultural criticism prevailing in twentieth century 80s in China and POP Art which has been an avant-courier art of China. It's primary means is to make the images that all of the Chinese can know into symbols, through intersection and contrast of time and space, complete the diplex meanings of representing form and cultural subject. The images of the time of the China Cultural Revolution are used abundantly in Chinese POP Art,although the public images of the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the public images of the Chinese POP Art have many sameness, such as using the public images and the standard that art should finally prevail in the most of people, at the same time the images' function, subject matter, style, value and the mean of popularity in the two different time arts are completely different. I want to study the public images and compare the public images of the two times' art and represent the difference of the function, subject matter, style of the public images in the thesis. Through the contrast, we can newly turn over the art of Chinese Cultural Revolution and the avant-courier art of China. This thesis respectively discuss the conception of the public images, the different using of the function, subject matter, style in the art of Chinese Cultural Revolution and the avant-courier art of China, and turn over them.
