Since the recovery of the Kezil Caves, the research work of the Serindia Caves has reached a new stage. Comparing to the other Kucha Buddhist Caves, the Kezil Caves is the largest and earliest one.The Kezil Caves is the typical one in all the Kucha Caves, and also the key point to link the Buddhist ruins in the Mid-eastern with the East Asia. The art pattern of Kucha is mainly made up by the artistic achievements in Kezil Caves. It has its unique characters and outstanding artistic features, and has great influences on the cave arts in the adjacent areas and Chinese inner land. It's also meant that the Kezil Caves has the superb art achievements and influences in the layout, structures, styles of the fresco, painting techniques and the painting decorations.The arts of Kezil Caves came in to being at the merging and exchanging time of the ancient eastern and western culture. It absorbed the cream of the foreign cultures including the India and Greek culture and formed the Kucha Buddism arts with its own sharp national style. The caves with central column of Kezil Caves is deeply affected by artistic styles of the caves in India and Afghanistan and renovated according to the geography features of Kucha county. So it created a kind of unique artistic style named the Kucha Style, which is different from the styles of other caves no matter in China or not. From the forming history of Kezil caves can understand the forming, developing and spreading history of Chinese Buddism Grotto. And the artistic style of Kezil Caves also has the great influence on the other caves located in the eastern area.
