Things show their existence through comparison. Comparison helps people to better understand the nature and characteristics of things so that people can describe things more clearly and vividly. Therefore, comparison is widely used in language practice (especially as a figure of speech) and it usage appears quite complicated. This paper studies two typical comparison structures in two languages - the "hon" clause in Vietnamese and "比" clause in Chinese. This paper mainly employs the three-dimension theory, combining the theories of Second Language Teaching and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. Comparing the two corresponding comparison structure in Vietnamese and Chinese may deepen the understanding of two languages phenomena. This paper points out the similarities and differences between the two clauses in their structural features, semantic characteristics and pragmatics expression. Furthermore, it proves the function of the negative transfer of training of mother languages in learning the target language by examples collected by investigation. This study not only has some reference value to the interlingual and intralingual research, but also contributes to the studies of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, Second Language Teaching, and translation practice. This paper consists of four main parts.1.Introduction.2.
