In order to meet the needs of human on language using, the language requires constant development and change. There is no exception to Vietnamese language. Most of the linguists’studies have been proved that the formation of Vietnamese language is a complex mixing process in history. Therefore, in addition to the native vocabulary of Vietnamese language (means the initial and pure Vietnamese language); it also absorbed a lot of words from other languages. Among them, the impact between Chinese language and Vietnamese language has a big effect on the development Vietnamese history over two thousand years. In particular, the Chinese language played a very important role in the expansion of Vietnamese lexicon, the exist of ancient Sino-Vietnamese tones, Sino-Vietnamese phonology and Vietnamization Sino-Vietnamese tones can be seen as evidence of the impact on the Vietnamese language, especially Chinese-Vietnamese phonology, it also can be known as Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary. As a Chinese international education student, I have my own duty to be a Chinese language teacher in future; so I should demonstrate much more sensitivity to Sino-Vietnamese words. According to my observation, Vietnam students can improve their Chinese vocabulary, Chinese exchanges and translation work when they using Sino-Vietnamese words. At the same time, teachers always encounter some Vietnamese learners use the wrong sentences during Chinese language lesson. These mistakes are not an error in grammar, it’s appeared on the meaning of vocabulary, and especially learners often applied Sino-Vietnamese words to Chinese expression directly. So why Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary hinders our Chinese language learning, meanwhile it helps to extend the amount of Chinese vocabulary? The reason is Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary brings positive and negative impact in the process of Chinese vocabulary learning among Vietnamese students. In order to guide students to use the advantage of Sino-Vietnamese words in Chinese vocabulary learning correctly with positive impact, and prevent from negative impact, I attempted to explore the following two aspects in my studies: Firstly, I’ll study on comparing the Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary and linguistic features of Chinese vocabulary, to find out how the Vietnamese students use Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary correctly with positive impact, and how to prevent the negative impact of it when they studying Chinese vocabulary. Secondly, according to the survey result, I’ll give some suggestions and make some strategies to help the Vietnamese Chinese learners use the Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary correctly with positive impact, and avoid from the negative impact reasonably, to be more effective in expanding Chinese vocabulary. Based on the previous studies, after I do research on Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary, I make out the following conclusions:On one hand, there are a lot of Sino-Vietnamese vocabularies in modern Vietnamese language, so it’s easier to learn and understand Chinese vocabulary for Vietnamese students. On the other hand, because of the influence of Vietnamese language and Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary, there are so many mistakes appear in Chinese language learning and using for Vietnamese learners, such as misuse of words, coined words, abuse of words and others. Finally, based on the above findings, I will give some corresponding suggestions for the Vietnamese students’ vocabulary teaching in this thesis with the main purpose is to strengthen the positive impact of Vietnamese Sino-Vietnamese words in learning and using Chinese vocabulary but also weaken the negative impact of Chinese Loanword among all the students. By this way, they will use Sino-Vietnamese vocabulary in learning Chinese with correctly and more effective in Chinese vocabulary learning as well.
