On Beethoven's "diabelli Variations" - On The Development Of Early Keyboard Variations

Beethoven's Diabelli Variations is one of the masterpieces in the history of Variations. In the thesis, the author tried to analyse with details from the following two points: 1 .Theme, including(l)originality;(2)Parody-Beethoven's orientation to the Diabelli theme,(3)the motive handling art;2.Structure;including (l)First section; (2)Second section;(3)Third. section According to the inheriting characteristic of music creation, the author had not only an overlook at all the works of Beethoven's early, middle and late life, but also an brief overview to the development of the keyboard variations before the birth of the music giant. Subsequently the author concluded that:1. Although the 32 Piano Sonatas could be seen as the indication of the climax of Beethoven's piano creation, the vitality and richness of Diabelli Variations showed us that the creative ability of the great musician was not decreased but strengthened, From a certain point of view, Diabelli Variations could be even regard as the continuation of 32 Piano Sonatas.2. Diabelli Variations consists of both traditional features and creative specialities, making it another classics after Diabelli Variations in the music history.
