Technical Rational Research, And Literature Of Modern Issues

The technological rationality which boomed recently in western countries has greatly influenced the development of people and their literature and art In this article we try to expound the meaning of technological rationality, the process of it's development and the positive and negative effects it has on people and people's literature and art, so that we can discuss how Chinese can guide the literature and art's development, correctly understand the issue of literature's modernization and push forward the development of our modern literature and art by means of using humanism.This article is divided into three parts.:First, The introduction to technological rationality . Rationality is human's conscious judgment and reasoning activity. It is a more advanced stage of cognition compared with the perceptual knowledge, and as well as the ability to control one's behavior rationally. Rationality has various kinds of essence and style in both eastern and western countries due to different context of age and background of literature. In western civilization there is a long-existed tradition that they adore rationality which in their opinions is deeper than the perception or everything in the world is decided by the reason., meanwhile, they stress the abstract ability of thinking as well. While in China, "rationality has been guided and carried out into realistic daily life, ethical emotion and political conception but not into abstract thinking." In western countries, technological rationality already has a history of several hundred years. It is the new generation of rationality, that is, the influence that the rational spirit which appears in the natural science research and practical usage has on people realistic lives. In china the development of technological rationality is laggardly because of the effect from traditional literature. Humanism, in a word, is human's subjective spirit, and man is the criterion of judging and commenting on everything, is the beginning point and final destination, In China reason emphasizes "people in center", regard the social values as the center of society. While in western countries, humanism stresses "individual in center", regard the individualism as the center of society.Second, technological rationality , humanism and modernization of literature. Technological rationality and humanism are closely contacted, and they are unity ofopposites. Only from the recent times in the western countries, did the technological rationality break away from the entire reason and be sharply antagonistic to humanism with the rapid development of science and technology. In China, technological rationality and humanism is always a chaos, Technological rationality came into being only after we came into the course of modernization. Technological rationality will undoubtedly have an effect on people's style of understanding and conception of values and after the event affect the development of art as technology plays a more important role in human's surviving style. On one side, it has prompted the prosperity of art, on the other side, it has weakened the harmonious humanistic emotions, to some extent, disrupted the traditional artistic criterion and glamour. Most western scholars set their hope on the esthetic characteristic, and try to get the people be out of control of technological rationality by esthetical means, try their best to propagandize that people should indulge themselves by instinct to fight against the technological reason's modern art. Chinese scholars attach more importance to humanism which exists in the literature and art and hope to correct illuminate the prejudices which were brought up by the unbalanced technological technological rationality's development.The third, the epochal value of literature and art ---the bridge between technological rationality and humanism.
