| This thesis discusses and analyses the image of wolf under the development and change of Mongolian social history and ideology and historical background of culture exchange among different nationalities. This can develop new study domain and broaden our vision. I believe this study can blaze new trails and has academic value.This thesis is composed of five chapters: Introduction; Chapter 1: wolf image in Mongolian myths about wolf ancestor; Chapter 2: wolf image in Mongolian literature under different religious background; Chapter 3: wolf image in Mongolian literature in the process of Mongolian cultural change; Conclusion.The first part mainly introduces significance of selecting this subject, theory sources, study methods and survey of relevant study at home and abroad.Chapter 1 uses theory and methods of comparative literature to compare different wolf images in Mongolian and Turkish myths about wolf ancestor, reveals the same original topic shared by Mongolian and Turkish nationalities, and probes into ancient model of Mongolian myths about wolf ancestor.Chapter 2 mainly analyses Mongolian wolf image under such different religious background as Shamanism, Buddhism and Islamism. Then theauthor points out that in order to beautify their ancestors, historians with different religious background fused wolf ancestor myths with history and made supernatural wolf into historical Buddhist or Islamist figures.Chapter 3 mainly discusses the process how the image of wolf in Mongolian myths changes from single-symbol to multi-symbol and analyses reasons of the change. After experiencing process from supernatural to ugly, wolf is being entrusted diversified symbolic meanings in current Mongolian literature, such as awakening of national will and keeping ecological balance.The last part summarizes content of the whole thesis and points out that the study of wolf image in Mongolian literature should be regarded as an important part in Mongolian literature study and be paid more attention. |
