Song Anhui Poet Rhyme Study

The poets of Anhui province were famous in Song Dynasty for their poems. Based on a thorough review of the rhyming feathure in their poems, it is easy to find that the rhyme system of ancient style Chinese poetry of Anhui poets in the Song Dynasty could be grouped into eighteen categories.And the "modern style" poetry could be grouped into fourteen categories. Many of which can rhyme each other . The phenomenon of rhyme in the ancient style chinses poetry of Anhui poets could be presented in the "modern style"poetry.The third tone and the fourth tone in Mandarin the four trad usually rhyme each other. "Jia"rhyme has break up already. "Yuan" part and "HanXian" part rhyme each other. In a way, all of these presents the phonetic features of spoken language of the time. It also shous some of the dialet characteristic of Anhui province.
