The Study On Female Poets Of Tang Dynasty

The female poets have been in Poetry for a long time. In the Tang Dynasty, With the improvement of the status of women, a large number of female poets emerged. They left many classic poems. Compared with the previous generations, they have a great development in the class distribution of the poet, the quantity and quality of poetry. Because of the special nature of gender, the poetry written by female poets have a great difference compared with the poetry written by male poets which mainly reflect in poetry themes and artistic features.The introduction part mainly introduces the origin and significance of the topic and research methods. Research on the female poets at home and abroad in recent years are also reviewed in this paper. Through that we can roughly grasp the research overviews of female poets.Chapter1 mainly introduces the survival background of females in the Tang Dynasty. On the one hand, the statue of women in the Tang Dynasty is greatly improved. On the other hand, the social situation that the males dominated society has not fundamentally changed.When introduce the reason and performance for the increasing of the status of the female in the Tang Dynasty, this part combined with the social customs and cultures through multi angle analysis. This part bases on the status of women at that time and the internalization of patriarchal society to analyze the situation that social status has not changed.Chapter2 divides the female poets according to classes, which includes ladies in the palace, the official’s wives, folk women, female priests and female prostitutes. In order to understand the overall situation of female poets in Tang Dynasty, this part introduces various segments of the representative poets and their works.Chapter3 analyzes the themes and artistic features of the female poems in the Tang dynasty and chooses representative poems for examples. The themes of poetry are divided into seven categories which include the travel and feast poems, love poems, conversation poems, poems which describe landscapes, frontier-style poems, poems about history and folklore poems. This part analyzes the artistic characteristics through the poetic emotion, the choice of images and the dialogue mentality in poems.Chapter4 mainly introduces the female poets’ contribution. The female poets in Tang dynasty show a true women world to us and make contributions to the poetry.The conclusion makes a summary of this paper.
