This essay will disscuss sound of Dongkou County in Hunan Province that has the Gan dialect phonological characters.The full thesis altogether divides into five parts. The first chapter is introuductiors.Introducing the geograophical locations,historical course, nationality and family name.We also introduce the sound outline and the sound sameness or difference of the whole county.The second chapter is phonological depiction.In this chapter,we list the initials .finals and the tone of Dongkou County's Gan dialect.Then we makes phonic combining chart to illustrate the relationship of initials ,finals and tone and point out the things that it must be noticed..Finally,we describle literary reading and colloquial reading.The third chapter is the discussing on the comparative phonology which includes the comparison between Dongkou's Gan sound and middle ancient time sound .Dongkou 's Gan sound and Beijing's sound .All these are linked by Dongkou Gan dialect .How the middle ancient times sound evolutes in Dongkou's Gan dialect can be discovered from the longitude comparison,and the law of sound shift can be reseached according to this. With horizontal comparison ,we can find out the corresponding pattern of Dongkou's Gan sound and Beijing 's sound from the latter comparison .These comparisons can provide direct help for popularizing common spoke Chinese in Dongkou County.The fourth chapter is analyzing some peculiar phonological phenomenal in Dongkou Gan dialect.The fifth chapter is conclusion .we draw a conclusion that Chengguan dialect representing Dongkou dialect belongs to Gan dialect,while infected by Xiang dialect.The last chapter is appendix. We research the original characters commonly used in tongue.in Dongkou Gan dialect.
