A Basic Analysis Of The Vocabulary Of Gan Dialect Of Dongkou County In Hunan Province

There are Gan Dialect and Xiang Dialect in Dongkou County. Relatively, Gan Dialect is distributed vastly and used universally. It is the major dialect in Dongkou County. However, Gan Dialect in Dongkou County is surrounded, affected and eroded by Xiang Dialect. This paper sketches and analyses Gan Dialect in Dongkou County from the point of vocabulary. It displays the general aspect of the vocabulary of Dongkou Dialect by discussing from the aspects of analysis of vocabualry structure od Dongkou Dialect, ancient words of Dongkou Dialect, vocabulary comparison of Dongkou Dialect, Xiang Dialect (represented by Changsha) and Gan Dialect (represented by Nanchang). By analysing and comparing, we can learn that Gan Dialect in Dongkou is approaching Xiang Dialect for the effect and erosion by Xiang Dialect. Therefore, there is strong colors of Xiang Dialect in Gan Dialect in Dongkou County, and it is a Gan Dialect influenced Xiang Dialect by analysing from the point of Vocabulary.
