The Conceptual Design Methodology Based On Scenario Analysis And Its Application

Concept design is very important to product design, the paper presents the method system of concept design based on scenario analysis which could be used in the phase of concept design, offers the three-dimensional reference frame in which comprehensive analysis of all elements could be carried out, and all the methods are applied in the design of individual mobile information terminal.The paper begins with the analysis of the task and status of concept design, presents the method of concept design course system-oriented and structure-oriented which is based on the view of product system and develop the view of product scenario, and full-scale study all the elements including product, user, surroundings in it. the paper puts forward the methods to erect the three-dimensional reference frame in which product, user, surroundings are expressed, it prescribes some internal logic to study the object and other correlative problems with integral, full-scale and related views, clear indications is given to every element in the three-dimensional reference frame in which the analysis of the product scenario is carried on, so the new product concept space is confirmed. Then, the product scene including the scene of interaction between surrounding and person, the scene of interaction between person and product, the scene of interaction between surrounding and product is analyzed , so the relation in all product elements and the thing-running rule is embodied and easy to be understood. In the three-dimensional reference frame of product, the material product scene is design and analyzed, so the abstract and unilateral elements are translated to material and appreciable ones, which contributes to elicit the detail design of product. To demonstrate the feasibility of the methods system of Conception Design based on Scenario Analysis, its application in the design of individual mobile information terminal is given. First, three product concept space is confirmed by the three--dimensional reference frame; second, one of them is analyzed in detail by the method system based on scenario analysis, and the detail rule of the product design is determined ; at last, a project is obtained.
