| Morality has always been an ancient topic. The study about morality was initiated at Yin and Zhou Dynasty, and finally formed systematical Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasty. In the process, there had been variety of theories, however, Confucian theory of morality of the pre-Qin period is the most important and the most distinguishable one. The states of morality directly influence the security, stability, and the progress of civilization of a nation. In Sino-civilization, the individual moralities got great attentions. As an integrated theoretical system, Confucian theory of morality of the pre-Qin period had been developed well both in the content and the theory. It is valuable and significant for the construction of the socialism with Chinese characteristics and the well-off society.The thesis studies the Confucian theory of morality of the pre-Qin period with its content, features, limitations, significance, ect. In the first part, based on the theory of human nature, it studies the training of morality with the goal; the methods; and the relations between individuals and nation, the one between individuals and society, and the one between right and duty. In the second part, in order to utilize the theory efficiently, it uses the theory of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and uses the method of social class and history, with which, this part analyses the features and limitations of Confucian theory of morality.In the third part, it mainly studies the significance of Confucian theory of morality in the modern society. It is significant for the development of morality of individuals, the society, and the globe. |
