The Text Structure Of The Yuan Dynasty

In his famous works Song Yuan Xi Qu Shi,on the one hand,Wang guo-wei greatly admires the lyrics of Yuan-Dynasty zaju play;on the other hand,he criticizes that its plot is inferior,its motif is superficial and its character is incompatible.This thesis will regard these as the starting point,analyzes the essence and reason of this view,investigate three major drama key elements of Yuan-Dynasty zaju play.We'll show the differences between Yuan-Dynasty zaju play and western traditional drama,summarize Yuan-Dynasty zaju play'structure way and its original causes of formation.This thesis consists of five parts as preface, section Ⅰ, section Ⅱ, sectionⅢ and section Ⅳ.The preface is to show the necessity and initiative of this thesis on Yuan-Dynasty zaju play.Section Ⅰ presents the different artistic styles and features of two major drama systems,verifies the rationality and irrationality of Wang guo-wei'viewpoints.It's unreasonable to take western theories of literature (including drama theories) as the standard to weigh Yuan-Dynasty zaju play.Section Ⅱ reveals the arrangement of plot of Yuan-Dynasty zaju play,analyses its drama climax.Yuan-Dynasty zaju play is "lyrical drama" actually.It doesn't pay attention to the arrangement of plot and the dramatic conflict.If we expand the intension of "climax" of the western drama term----It can refer to plot climax that facilitated by actions of personages in the drama,also can amplify for emotion climax of lyrical drama.In fact,Yuan-Dynasty zaju play regards emotion tubercle as structure basic point.Section Ⅲ counters western model theories,analyses Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' personages.A large amount examples indicate that Yuan-Dynasty zaju play doesn't alike western traditional drama,following the strict typical principle.Personages' establishment is more loose,too.Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' personages appearcomplicated style and features,because the authors had greater random and purpose while moulding personages.They often made them become their mouthpieces and made them express the feeling outside the drama.Section IV discusses Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' thought structure from technological aspect still,but does not involve the concrete content.As thought is the key element of meaning under one's command,this text will discuss Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' structure of original causes of formation from this too----Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' writers general carelessness to thought must cause to neglect of plot and personage,the opposite is also true.Wang guo-wei thinks that "Yuan-Dynasty zaju play' best place,not in their thought structure,but in its article",because Yuan-Dynasty zaju play is lyrical literature essentially,and the first artistic conception of our country traditional poem is "Yijing".
