Media Concept: The Use Of Foil Of Chinese Painting

Paillette is an important medium of Chinese traditional art, which is usually used to garnish different kinds of wares, sculptures and murals for its splendid tinct and precious characteristic. But it is seldom applied to traditional scroll paintings, because it can not easily stick to paper and silk; and what is more basically is that scholar painting emphasizes bimo and verve, while looking down on color and technique.In the condition of contemporary art, conventional art has been paid more attention to, and various materials have been arranged systematically. With the introduction of occidental ideas, the development of new methods and media, and admiration of the principle of originality, we can, in a brand new point of view, explore and study the qualities of those traditional media that have been covered up. Only under this kind of condition can the restoration of paillette come true in the creation of contemporary art. What I am doing is to combine ink with foil, which is based on the study of foil.
