Quan Deyu Art Of Poetry

This dissertation aimed on the art of the poesies by Quan De-yu, a poet in the middle of Tang dynasty. His poesies were studied from the longitudinal and horizontal angles respectively. The whole dissertation was divided into three parts: in the first part his poesies were studied from the longitudinal angle according to the time when the poesies were created. The relationship between the lives before and after he became an official and his poesies were analyzed, including the difference of his artistic style. The basal method used in this part was analyzing his literature according to his life and experience.In the second part, the poesies by Quan De-yu were divided into different categories, and were studied from horizontal angle. This part consisted of three sections, each of which was chosen and studied according to the characteristic of the poesies themselves, that is, the poesies were divided into different volumes according their categories. The effects of the poet's personality and his appreciation of the beautiful on his style of the poesies were discussed while the poesies were studied. Based on the above two parts and combined with the poet's ideas guiding literary creation, in the third part, the artistic characteristic of Quan De-yu was discussed from the angle of the linguist style, the form of conveying his emotion and the expression.In short, Quan De-yu liked choosing calm and quiet imagines, expressing his sincere, frank, euphemistic and deep emotion in brief and elegant words by various forms of poems and expression, reaching the harmonious combination of quiet and elegance. Quan De-yu did a lot of attempt and innovation in creation technique, having distinguished artistic style.
