The Confucian study in the United States has over 100 year's history. In thelast half period of 20 centuries, it further becomes oversea Confucianism studycenter. Under the influence of political philosophy revival after the SecondWorld War, the comparative study of Confucianism and democracy becomes thefocus which the American scholars pay attention to. In total speech, theAmerican Academia enter into this problem has two ways, one of that isstandard political or social economical method, another is philosophicaldiscussion. All of these two sides constitute the scholar studies'flourish.The Confucianism study carried by 19 centuries'Emerson and 20 centuries'Max·Webber established the foundation and scale of the United Statesacademia. The discuss which springs up in American academia to the pluralismdemocracy theory since the last half period of 20 centuries, is an importanthistorical condition which lead to the rise of political Confucianism study. Bothof these two sides favored the broad expansion of the American academia'sstudy in a deep theory lay.During the last half period of 20 centuries, American academia begins theirsystemic and all-sided study and discuss on the problem of the relation betweenConfucianism and modern democracy theory. In regard to its scholar studyprocess, we can divide it into three stages: 1. the stage that the research firstsprings up (1950-60 ages). During this period, that's a two division between twofactions. On thestudy method, they strive to induct social science method, to accomplish thecross subject study. 2.
