Boxer Historical Archives Compiled And Published

The Boxer Movement, which happened in China at the turning point of the 19th century and the 20th century, have been the focus of the academic circles all the time because it had enormous influences at home and abroad at that time. The history study is close to historical date, and there are a lot of historical data and file historical data about the Boxer, so there are many achievements on this topic. The file historical data are very important in the study because of its originality and systematization.In July of 2003, the publishing house of the People's University of China published the Qing Dynasty collection on The Incident in 1900, which was compiled by Chinese First Historical Archives. This book consisted of 18 volumes, and was published as the national project of compiling the Qing Dynasty's history. And it was the first overall and systematical publication of the relevant files on The Incident in 1900, which were collected by the court of Qing Dynasty. It published more than 5000 new files compared with the File Historical Data on the Boxer and the Sequel of File Historical Data on the Boxer by Chinese First Historical Archives. The newly released historical data will promote the study on the Boxer Movement and the Incident In 1900.This thesis rearranges the Boxer file historical data published already by using the science of historical data, archival science and history analytical method of the historical data. And the author probes into the historical data value of the Qing Dynasty collection on The Incident in 1900. At the same time, she hopes to evaluate preliminarily the compilation and publication of the historical data on the Boxer Movement and the situation of the study through grasping the relationship between the file historical data on the Boxer and the study of the Boxer Movement.The dissertation is roughly divided into 3 parts: The first part rearranges and analyses the file historical data on the Boxer published already, and accounts the publication information, content, and the style of every file involved. The second part compares the Qing Dynasty collection on The Incident in 1900 and the relevant file historical data and its value. The author points out the characteristic and the use of the historical data by comparing the Qing Dynasty collection on The Incident in 1900, The File Historical Data on the Boxer, the Sequel of File Historical Data on the Boxer and the Chinese custom and the Boxer Indemnity. The third part studies the compilation and publication of the file historical data on the Boxer and the Boxer Movement. It covers the interrelation between the file historical data and the history study, the evolution of the thought in the compilation the file historical data on the Boxer and the development of the study on the history of the Boxer Movement.
