As one of the writers in the new era, Chi Zijian takes a unique position. Her novels are unique and distinctive for their local features and strong expression of individuality. She follows a civilian tradition along with a affectionate yearning for traditional Chinese rural life and a spurn of industrialization. In her pure and simple style, she has composed pieces of carols to eulogize the hometown nature and simple life and humanity. With her pen, she persists in the shaping of perfect life, discovery of puzzle and solution, trying to seek back and reshape the lost perfect humanity in many small remote Northern towns bearing ancient taste, by which, she is meant to bring comfort and salvage to people in an artistic world of romance.Chi Zijian is a write of perceptual knowledge and at the same time a writer rational knowledge. Her perceptual knowledge makes her novels rest on the layer of romantic perception, while her rational knowledge makes her works assume reason of depth and width. Her full depiction of natural beauty and humanity, sympathy for everything on earth, her embodiment of reality and ideality, classicism and romance, tradition and modernism, her vision of nature from the eyes of a child and transcendence and the aesthetic character and personality all give the reader a unique aesthetic experience. As a writer influenced a lot by Chinese traditional culture, a co-existence of both Confucian idea of an honored man and Tao's reserve preferring hermit life. Her conscience in her wake and unconscious moral self-discipline makes her express mainly romance and estheticism. She "anthropomorphizes nature", "naturalizes humanity" and "humanizes society" to express her longing to return to nature, hence to discover the real embodiment of humanity from historical and realistic aspect. She shows to the public her yearning for perfect life of human beings by "the spread of humanity".Different from the past studies on Chi Zijian's childhood, feminie, poetric style and sentiment, the thesis, based on a perceptual understanding, focuses on a rational reflection, trying to interpret the deeper meaning of her creation by discussing her classicism inclination. By displaying the conflict between reality and ideality, classicism and romance, tradition and modernism, Chi Zijian shows her unique style and character. The creative value of the thesis lies in three aspects: From a unique angle of view, the thesis makes both a perceptual and rational analysis of Chi Zijian's works to show the dignity of humanity and personality; The thesis, for the first time, puts forward that Chi Zijian's works have bearings of classicism; The thesis also proposes a study of her rationality and personality displayed in her works, and forms a rational vision on her perception and humanity of her creation, which makes the study of Chi Zijian's works a complete and systematic one.
