Cross-courses' learning, use for reference, research and reciprocal assimilation have become a main stream in nowaday society. Though painting and music are two different independent subjects, both of them are united in art. In China, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism have great effects on both painting and music. In cultural theory, they are interosculant. Art itself is a symbol which has several different levels. Each symbol has its own connotation respectively and combines to one whole. Their differences make new language. Such as artists themselves, owing to the differences between their thoughts and feelings, they form different artistic styles. Owing to the differences in their expressional forms, painting materials and skills, their artistic language appears different. Different artistic schools with their own styles come one after another. From this we may know that as a symbol, art has diverse levels, so it has a complex system that can transform its elements.Originated from Chinese traditional culture, Chinese artistic and aesthetic thoughts form special artistic tradition on thoughts and soul. The nature of artistic expression has changed into inner spiritual feeling and comprehension. So, aesthetic concepts such as physique and spirit, mood and qiyun have become the ideal sense of artistic creation. While Mencius' words "I'm good at fostering the Great Spirit" has made Chinese personality begin to wake and made the artists' link their spiritual qualities with their works' styles. In this article, the author employs qiyun and rhythm as her main clues to prove the connection between Chinese ancient painting and music, using the artist's thoughts and feelings, expressional skills and examples from works, accompanying with the idea of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism.
