Tang dynasty is not only the peak period of poetry development, but also the flourishing times for Buddhism development in China. Under this historic background, both poetry of Tang dynasty and Buddhism permeated and refined each other and had achieved great progress. But what is the relation between the 《Shijing Theory》 (the theory on poetic atmosphere) and Buddhism? And what is the relation between Buddhism and the important format of poetics in Tang dynasty — "Shige"(the rules of writing poems)? Proceeding with the reference and use of Buddhism terminology by poetics of Tang dynasty, this paper discusses the effect of Buddhism on the poetics in terms of both the content and format of poetics of Tang dynasty. In classical Chinese, "Jing" means boundary of area(objective). When Buddhism was introduced into China, "Jing" was used to describe the subjective spirit experience(abstractive), and it was enriched with a variety of new connotations("Jing" in Buddhism). With Buddhism and poems thriving in Tang dynasty, "Jing" gained the internal and external conditions to transform from "Jing in Buddhism" to "Jing in poetics".Thank to flourish of literature art and urgent need of poem creation practice, and especially the creative using Buddhism terminology "Jing" by poetry theorists in Tang dynasty, started from Wang Changling's 《 Shige》 (rules of writing poetry) on, terminologies, such as "Wujing"(objective scene), "Qingjing"(mood or experience that people obtained from nature or literature works), "Yijing"(artistic atmosphere) were definitely used to expatiate various questions of poetics. Furthermore, Jiaoran's 《Shishi》 (rules of writing poetry) imposed important direct and indirect effects on subsequent poetics. The direct effect was that most part of poetics after Jiaoran's was written by monks, their ample Buddhism culture improved the level of poetics; the indirect effect is the Buddhism ideas contained in Jaoran's 《Shige》 and the literature conception derived from those ideas, and this was more important.Based on up described, poetics of Tang dynasty had some common and distinct character. For example, the application of "Men"(the structure of poetry) and "Shi"(relation between up and down sentences of a poem) was the exact result of reference to Buddhism terminology. To sum up, the introduction of Buddhism terminology "Jing" by poetics of Tang dynasty accelerated the transformation from "Jingjie Theory" in Buddhism to "Yijing Theory" in poetics, directly leaded to formation of "Yijing Theory" and the reference of "Men" and "Shi" had made the poetics of Tang dynasty strongly unique among those in any other dynasties.
