With the past half of the century, Asia has been developing from a region that is too poor and weak to any expectation to a most vigorous place of the word. People has given "the growing up of Asia" different explanation one after another. This dissertation focuses on the form, role, behavior and effect of the government of Asia, chooses this five country:Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, India and Philippines as researching objection, treat their political representation from after The World War II to 1980s as norm, disparts them as two parts:classical authoritarian(Korea, Indonesia and Thailand) and classical Asian "democratic countries" (India and Philippines), combining with the national, social and economical characteristics of Asian countries, gives the Asian authoritarianism an comprehensive and deep analysis, looking forward to giving some useful reference to the ongoing democratisation. The dissertation is mainly divided into five parts:In the abstract, it points out the significance, correlated conception, theorise and researching method of the study.In the first chapter, it discusses Britain, germany and japan' governmental behaviours at their beginning stage to the modern countries, the traditional characteristics of Asia and its status afterThe World War II.In the second chapter , it discusses Korea, Indonesia and Thailand ' primary tastes of democracy during the beginning of afterwar period, and the chaos and difficulties their countries are faced with.In the third chapter,it discusses the coming of the former three countries' authoritarian age, the correlated measures of the governments and the development of these countries.In the fourth chapter, it analyses and discusses the reasons of India and Philippines' democratic politics, their regression to the Asian traditional politics and comparatively slow development.In the fifth chapter, it generalizes all the historical facts, analyses the political form must be based on the masses.
