Anglo-japanese Alliance (1902-1921) The Impact Of The International Situation In Northeast Asia

The Northeast Asia has an important position in the world whether from the political or the economic perspective. My thesis will focus on relationship of big powers and the international structure and explain the influencence which Anglo-Japanese alliance to the Northeast Asia structure with a macro-perspective, comprehensive and systematic method.Late 19th century, with the declined of China and the powers gradually completed the transition to the imperialism.They extended its hands to the Northeast Asia and struggled heated in the area. At that time the northeast Asian had become "the Far East Balkans".Russia expanded vigorously in Northeast Asia,That is a serious threat to the Britain and Japan's interests in Northeast Asia. To combat the common enemy, Britain and Japan gradually from confrontation to the alliance. It was the first Anglo-Japanese alliance, as the situation changed, the second and the third Anglo-Japanese alliance were be allied.They played an important role in the Northeast Asia structure.The first Anglo-Japanese alliance advanced the Britain and Japan's status in Northeast Asia. Russia begin to join France to contend with the Britain and Japan, so Russia and France alliance was expanded to the Far East.It prompted Russia to adopt new policy,Japan occupied the dominant position in the fignt with Russia.The second Anglo-Japanese alliance made diplomatic preparations for the negotiation of Japan with Russia .It made Japan in a favorable position with Russia's negotiations, Obtain enormous benefits.On the contrary, Russian forces have been greatly weakened.Faced with the new situation,Japan and Russia, Britain and Russia, Japan and France all adjusted their relations.The third Anglo-Japanese alliance increased Japan's expansion in Northeast Asia .It made America's Money diplomacy which blocked by Japan and Russia bankruptd again.It also made Japan established the dominant position in Northeast Asia with the opportunity of First World War. It's disintegration resulted a significant change of the Northeast Asia structure: Japanhas lost the support of its allies;the United States and Japan have become the Major players in Northeast Asia;Eventually led to the Japan's crazy expansion and launched the war in the Pacific.All in all,Bntain and Japan as two big countries which have major interests in Northeast Asia.Their alliance has played a significant role on change of the Northeast Asia structure.Every Anglo-Japanese all changed the forces of the original powers in Northeast Asia.So the Northeast Asia structure also have new change. From these we can realize the influence of the big countries to the region political structure,and various political forces in the area is how to adjust their policies to adapt to changes of the situation when the big countries adjust their relations.
