With the development of linguistic study, context has become a very important concept which is of theoretical and practical significance in linguistic study. Traditional linguistic study focuses on the structure and rule of language, however sometimes the static study of language can not give a proper explanation of language use. This paper tries to find out the restriction function of Chinese context and expound the view in teaching Chinese as a second language.This paper emphasizes on studying language dynamically and defines the restriction of Chinese context as the influence on language expressing and understanding. In this paper the context is divided into two parts: linguistic context and non-verbal context. The restriction of linguistic context can be found on three levels which are pronunciation, words and grammar. The non-verbal context consists of context of situation, culture context and psychological context.In the section of applying study, this paper puts forward that it is helpful to language teaching and learning in context. According to the investigation of the relationship between the context restriction and language using ability which is done among the foreign students from Japan, Korea and France in International Culture Exchange College in Qufu Normal University, we find that the understanding of the context restriction affects the foreign students' language using. The analysis of this investigation proves the practical significance of the study of Chinese context. We hope it would be supplement to the former study.
