Contemporary Feminist Criticism Of Historical Scenes

This paper, on the purpose of collation and introduction, based on the studies of feminist literary criticism during recent years, tries to review the Chinese contemporary feminist literary criticism, systematize its achievements and conclude its advantages and disadvantages. Its also reveals Chinese borrowing and developing of the western feminism criticism, attempting to make these two different cultures understand and communicate with each other. At last the paper tries to build the theory terrace. The belief is shown in the article that under the globalizing circumstance the Chinese feminist literary criticism will have a promising future, be accepted by the world and take a very important position.Chapter Ⅰ: the location of Chinese contemporary feminist literary criticism. It has different location in different period. Some concepts are distinguished in this chapter, such as women's literature, feminism literature, feminist literary criticism, and feminism literary criticism.Chapter Ⅱ: the born and the development. In the period of born, researchers try to find new critic methods. It is a fragmentation of traditional criticism methods, while the content is an engagement of changed women's literature. In the flourish period, western feminism theories transferred into China. Researchers accept them actively, and at the same time, those theories are chosen initiatively. In the practical period, the feminist criticismillustrated the philosophic basis from which China's feminist theory derived, and criticized literary phallogocentrism, and formed the history of women's literature again. During the development of criticism, more attention is paid on contemporary women's literature and sex view is related firmly to nation view and race view. What's more, the criticism to women's individual writing is the central topic of this period. The special value of feminist literary criticism is shown in this part, too.Chapter III: the disadvantages. Lacking of creation is the difficulty of theory building. "Refuse talking with each other" is a strange phenomenon in criticism field. The relationship between "woman" and "man" is a dead circulation of criticism.Chapter IV: the theory building. Feminist literary criticism should have a firm standpoint. "Feminist view" and "feminist humanism" are basic standpoint, and avant-garde is needed in criticism.
