German Muslim Populations Studied

After World War II, because of the need of economic development of Germany, a large number of workforces had been introduced Germany from the Islamic countries, such as Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, etc. After the oil crisis in 1973, family's reunion had replaced laborer immigrants. After 1990s, because the Soviet Union disintegrates and Balkan crisis, a lot of Muslims refugee pour into Germany.These Muslim immigrants had not well integrated into the mainstream society of Germany. According to the law of Germany, it is very difficult for them to obtain Germany citizenship, and they can only settled Germany as foreigners. Their education level was very low, and they only did some low-paid job, this had caused pauperization of their life. After the family reunites, the change of family's structure makes the demand for the religion increasingly important, and then a large number of mosques and Islamic organization arise at the historic moment. Organization these besides offering religion service, under the condition that Germany's welfare system is lacked, have offered the social security to Muslim immigrant, thus strengthened the influence power of religious organizations. Under the strict law of citizenship of Germany and intensive Islamic faith, the rate of contacts between Muslims is far more the contacts with Germen. It made Muslim's community isolated from German mainstream society.This thesis used the interdisciplinary research approach to investigate Muslim ethnic group's economic status, religious culture and relation with ethnic group of German; had analyzed the cause; point out it is difficult for the Multiculturalism to solve the problem of ethnicity relation in Germany.
