The literature of a nation is the reflection of its history in a particular period. As a crossborder immigrant nation, the Chosen(Korean)ethnic groups literature is inevitably rooted in immigrant literature and the theme of immigration. The issue of immigration is the most natural gene of the literature of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, and it is a form of literature that emerged naturally along with the formation of the nation.Contemporary full-length novels on immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group focus on the survival and living conditions of people who immigrated from the Korean peninsula to the northeast in the course of modern Chinese history from the late 19 th century to the mid-20 th century, covering the history of migration, pioneering, settlement and struggle of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group,as well as the history of family rise and decline and village changes. In this study, six full-length novels were involved. The first long novel of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group on immigration was The Age of Suffering, published in the 1980 s,which spanned from the end of the 19 th century to the end of the Anti-Japanese War.It told the story of the conflicts and entanglements between two generations of three different classes of families of farmers, landlords and small traders, who sneak across the Tumen River to the Northeast on the same night, and how they managed to survive in the Yanbian region. In the 1990 s,influenced by root-seeking literature and new historicism, the two literary works Tears Shedding into the Tumen River and Legend of Inter Island appeared. These works showed the daily life of immigrants from a folk perspective. In the 2010 s,literary works such as ’A Farewell to Longjing,’ ’The Descendants of Recovering Lost Territory,’ and ’Yalu River’ portrayed complex and changeable characters against the backdrop of real historical events, reflecting the fates of individuals in the torrents of history. These six novels are the representatives of contemporary full-length novels on immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, reflecting the immigration history and family history of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, fully demonstrating traditional thought, ethnic culture and religious beliefs, and exploring the changes in identity in different periods. In this study, contemporary full-length novels on immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group were explored from four aspects: historical writing, cultural connotation, identity and narrative method.By means of the writing of immigration history and family history, immigration novels not only presented the immigration history of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group immigration itself, but also showed the development of the immigrant area in the process of immigration and settlement,as well as the historical achievements made by the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group in the Anti-Japanese War,the liberation cause and the establishment of new China. At the same time, the immigration novels also reflected the special cultural connotation of immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, such as Confucianism, folk culture and folk belief, thereby revealing the changes in the identity of immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group and the gradual formation of new identity. Moreover, the narrative strategies such as magic realism, carnivalesque narrative and diversified narrative methods were applied in the contemporary novels on immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, with an attempt to maximize the narrative effect, which has achieved good results in literature. In the first chapter, the historical writing of immigration history of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group was explored from three perspectives: the writing of immigration history, the writing of immigrant family history, the praise of historical merits of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group, and the criticism of feudal ethical consciousness. In the second chapter, the cultural connotations in the immigration writing were explained in terms of Confucianism, folk culture, and religious beliefs in traditional culture of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group. In the third chapter, the identity of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group was investigated through the national identity, cultural identity, and Chinese national community consciousness. In the fourth chapter, the magical realism narrative method, carnivalesque narrative method and pluralistic narrative method used in the novel were investigated from the perspective of narrative strategies.Remembering history is the best way to face the future. The positive influence of full-length novels on immigrants of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group is to interpret the history of the nation by literary means, and to explore the history and the "root" of the nation by writing the immigration history. It is conducive to building the self-confidence of the Chosen(Korean)ethnic group in the Chinese community and establishing a sense of identity and belonging, thereby enabling them to better integrate into the future society. This is of great value and significance to the inheritance of national culture and the strengthening of national cohesion.
