Distinctive ties between Syria and Lebanon have double meanings. On the one hand, it is close-knit historical affiliations, which has been between Syria and Lebanon for thousands of years, deriving strength from common kinship, section, and culture. The affiliation has been in the deep of public soul in two countries. As a soft power, the feeling of affiliation has a profound impact on the relations between Syria and Lebanon. On the other hand, it is pointed to distinctive relations codified in Ta'if Agreement, which has been endowed with rich political meaning. The distinctive ties have been deducted into the integration of extensive fields between two countries, such as politics, economy, military affairs and diplomacy, after Ta'if Agreement had been signed.Many factors have profound influence to the distinctive ties between two countries. As far as Syria and Lebanon are concerned, it is common origin, collective strategic need fighting against Israel and reciprocal interests in the fields of politics, economy, military affairs and diplomacy of two countries that made constructing the distinctive ties into common appeals of two countries. At the level of regional politics, the issues of Arab-Israel conflict have an important impact on the formation and development of the distinctive ties. At the level of international politics, the evolvement or the struggle of the superpowers is another significant factor influencing the ties. After 9ยท11 attack ,especially Iraq war in 2003, the relations between Syria and America have being worsened and pound at the distinctive ties between Syria and Lebanon. After Halili was assassinated, Syrian armies pull out from Lebanon completely and abruptly. It makes a complicated and confusing future for the distinctive ties.
