Friedrich August von Hayek(1899-1992)is the famous economist and political philosopher of the 20th century. The most important contribution to social science is his Theory of Knowledge. But few people study it. In the view of that, His theory of knowledge and the relationship among its mind, economy and politics are well-arranged and refined systematically. Moreover, the status and effect of his theory in his whole concept is analyzed carefully. The theory significance and practical value are estimated completely. This thesis is mainly divided into three parts, as following: The first part, the development of Hayek's Theory of Knowledge is expounded.His Theory of Knowledge can be divided into three periods. In the earliest period, the extreme subjectivism theory is formed on the significance of"know"which is on the basis of"division of personal knowledge".He points out the importance of the division of knowledge and the appliance of knowledge in society. In the middle period, the transition of his theory is the"tacit knowledge"upon"know how". In the 1960s, the last period is, Hayek began turning into the transcendent Theory of Knowledge established on the core of"ignorance"and auspicated the endless possibility for his social theory.The second part, through mainly analyzed his theory of knowledge and the relationship among its mind, economy and politics .It elucidates the basic position of Theory of Knowledge in his whole concept. Hayek's theory of mind is the psychological foundation of his Theory of Knowledge and the Limit of Knowledge. When establishing his economic system, he clears up planned economy basis on limited reason and ignorance, annotates price system on knowledge, defines competitive market, clearly proves the market economy's rationality, and makes creative contribution. Besides, Hayek extends the epistemology of limited reason and ignorant theory of knowledge to the social political area, builds up his characteristic social political theory. The spontaneous order establishes effective system space for the application of knowledge. The freedom exploits domain for the spread and increase of knowledge.
