Tacit knowledge is a kind of knowledge which is never transformed explicit and benefits quite the success of people. A lot of excellent performances are based on the tacit knowledge of people in the practical tasks. Just from this point, a large body of research have been made by the psychologist abroad. However, there is little research especially domain research in tacit knowledge in China so for.This study deals with the tacit knowledge of managers for the first time. It is not unusual for individuals with very distinguished performance records in formal schooling to have only moderate success in the occupational arena. Conversely, it is unusual for individuals who are highly successful in their occupations to have unremarkable academic records. The Tacit Knowledge Inventory for Managers is important to organization for selection, promotion, and career planning.The Tacit Knowledge Inventory for Managers (TKIM) was originally published in 1989. It was widely used for both personnel and career counseling. The TKIM have proven time and time again to be practical, predictive and reliable. In order to obtain a good TKIM in short time, we revise the TKIM into Chinese.The first thing we do is to translate and modify the original survey, in the revision, we have changed some items which is not well fit for the culture in China, and the less we keep their original format and content.To evaluate the efficiency of the revised Tacit Knowledge Inventory for Managers, we selected 311 subjects who comes form different career. We get the key parameter from the data, such as mean, standard deviation, reliability, criterion-related validation, and test intercorrelations, we also use conform factoranalysis(CFA) and one-way analysis of variance the underlying constructs common to the measures. The factorial content of the TKIM support its construct validity.First, the revised Tacit Knowledge Inventory for Managers has satisfactory psychometrics characters, including good reliability and fair validity;Second, the revised Tacit Knowledge Inventory for Managers provide useful clue for further revision and use.
