Qian Mu, one of the most influential elite in 20th century in china, plays animportant role in the area of philosophy and culture, and has many works related on hisstudy. Deep In his mind, he shows great respect to Chinese traditional culture andbelieves that our traditional culture should "root on our own ground and bloom ourunique characteristics". Among his works, the study on the culture and cultural historytake the main part and small part reminds the study on literature, hence alwaysneglected by the followers.So far by now, there has no any monographs focusing on this aspect except twodoctoral dissertations (Rui Hongming— Brief Introduction of Qian Mu's View onLiterature;the other is one chapter in Hou Min's Study on Modern New ConfucianistCulture Poetic). And researchers in this area always set force from the angle taking thewhole culture as background when studying Qian Mu's literary theory, lacking of asteady and obvious clue. In this thesis, we take "introject" as the main point inconstructing our study, and start from the view macroscopically and microscopically,longitudinally and transversely, and from the inner view mixing with the outer view,hoping to find out to what extend Qian Mu inherits the traditional culture and putsforwards his own analyzing on literature. At the same time, we also try to make aconclusion about his theory "perusing the new". By doing this, we will have a generalidea about Qian Mu's literary theory in which "introject" plays ads the core and directsall through his works.As to any kind of literary, they have their own soil. This piece of literary soilmoistens the course of development and witnesses the changes of literature. Andliteratures also have to rely on the traditional culture should they want to get a betterenvironment because the tradition culture add to the literature historical thick andabundant.In early 20th century, a turbulent period of Chinese literature was facing ahistorical crossroads, and during this course, debates among different wings get heaterand heater. A view argued that Chinese literature should learn from the West and abolishclassical Chinese culture, use colloquialism language, learn western literature andthoughts, and sever ties with the traditional relationship. We call them radicalism.Another view to the development of the traditional Chinese literature is that classicalChinese reservation form can not be flaggingly affected by factors from the West, wecall them conservatism. This argument is lurking behind the development of literarytrends, namely the development of Chinese literature is an argument between "arrogant"or "inferior". Whether we should stick to tradition strictly or learn more modern literarybecomes the focus point of controversy, and it requires eagerly to be resolved.Literary ideology of Qian Mu had started around two issues: First, the verticaldevelopment of the successor and the other is horizontal on absorption. The formerrefers to the internal communicated with the same system of succession;the latter refersto the different areas within the same system or among different systems of totalabsorption. The time and space coordinates exist in any kind of literature, both inhistory and tradition associated with the vertical and horizontal in the literature with theimpact of other factors associated with the existence of which is the historicalinheritance of the common exchange and interact. Given this premise, the integrated usethese as the starting point to integrated macro and micro, vertical and horizontal,internal and external integration approach, a perspective on the Qian mu's thought outand analyze literature, the text is divided into four parts:Part I: Qian mu's integrated literature thought's historical background and origins.We often say "to know a man according to his background";in fact, we have to "torealize an affair according to the background of the World." The inevitable result of anyone ideology also has its historical background, knowing of this, and then we canunderstand the causes of things better, and grasp the nature of things and thecomprehensive analysis of the main part of the Western literary revolution literature.Part II: Cultural vision of literature in a historical view. Any forms of a specificload are behind deep content, especially in the relationship between language andliterature. We know from external forms of spiritual core research issues. This part triesto explore the cultural background to find the last period of literature successor,following change and literary language forms discussed behind cultural issues.Part III: The integrated of history and poetry. Qian Mu reads and understandshistory and poetry together, and both the two will help from the macro and micro view.Literature is in close relationship with historiography, and Qian Mu probes into the ruleof the literature development from the macro perspective of the history. At the sametime, discussing literature and life interact derived from the micro-analysis of thespecific characteristics of literature.Part IV: Integrated of literature and the spirit. All writings come from the writer'smind, hence showing out their own personality and the true feeling, and stirring theaudience's reflections. This part tries to explore the relationship between literary andpsychological study, and to find the theory of creation based on the heart, and at thesame time analyze Qian Mu's literature thought characteristics according to the inventand appreciation theory . Mostly important, we take "introject" as background instudying Qian Mu's theory and expect to find something useful.
