Haydn String Quartet Structure And Texture

The thesis focus on Haydn's string quartets, start from its structure and texture, research its development based on the background of conversions of western music style from polyphony to homophony, carve up the phases according to the character of structure and texture. From the viewpoint of musical history, combine the factors of society background and music style and so on, to analyze and conclude the cause of characters in different phase, and to evaluate the contribution of Haydn's solution to the contradiction between the require of ensemble and the tendency of musical development, and to evaluate the contribution of Haydn to establish the classical paragon for string quartet.The article have three parts, the first section introduce the early development of string quartet which changed from trio sonata about 18th century and the condition of Haydn's musical composition; the second section research the course of the conversion of structure and texture in Haydn's string quartets, and sum up the character of different phase; the third section discuss the historical reason of the formation of Haydn's string quartets and its historical effect.
