The music of Chinese Drama has experienced three significant historic revolutions since Song Dynasty. The prevalence of BangZi music, PiHuang music and the spring up of all kinds of local drama formed the first two great historic revolutions. Then, the creation and theory study about Chinese Drama have been achieved unprecedented prosperity and rapid development since 1949. It is the third revolution that will be demonstrated in this thesis. During the past several decades, it finished the transition from amateur creative to professional creative phase, surpassed the tradition, enhanced the individual character of music, and finally realized the great transition from the labor and experience intensivism to technology and theory intensivism. At the same time, the theory construction was also highly paid attention to and developed rapidly. The research groups became grand gradually. Therefore, the plentiful fruits about theory study have been achieved.In this thesis, several methods (such as history, philology, morphology, comparison and so on) will be used to respectively study the development and historical phases of the third great revolution, historical experience about the creation of Modern Drama, the comparison of National Opera between Modern Drama and the general picture of theory study. From these research results, we can comprehensively and objectively acknowledge the third great historic revolution.Through all the demonstration in this thesis, we hope to find a way for the development of Chinese Drama music according to the historical experience and lessons.
