Shanxi Southeastern Legend Of Emperor Yan And Culture Of,

This paper talks about Yan emperor(Shen—nong)'s relics and belief in the southeast of Shan Xi province from all of the aspects of the legends, the folk— customs, the local circumstance and the local culture. First of all, on the basis of the predecessor' study ,the author summed up these topics with the archaeology that Yan emperor(Shen—nong) was buried at a local place called Yan emperor(Shen—nong)'s mausoleum and reached a conclusion that the legend about Yan emperor in the southeast of Shan Xi province had the character of density and historicity .Then the author compiled the documents on this topic into two aspects: materiality and immateriality and came to another conclusion that the local legends had the feature of materiality. Furthermore, the paper researched the tight correlation between the legends' integrality and the local circumstance and long history. Up to now, Yan emperor(Shen—nong)'s belief has become part of the daily life of the local people. So these phenomena will be of great value to the local tourism.
