Emotion and personality were the important factors that influenced cognition. However, the researches in the past investigated the influence emotion or personality had on cognition respectively, and few researches investigated the way emotion and personality, seen as an integrated term, influenced cognition. This research adopts experiment to investigate how emotional states and neuroticism influence complex reasoning of college students, and how neuroticism influences emotion priming. It can help us to better understand that psychology has its wholeness and its elements interplay with one another to form the unified framework system. At the same time, it can provide psychological evidence for the practice of intelligence development and personality education in school context. The research shows that: (1) The influence of neuroticism on priming effects and priming degrees is not obvious. (2)When the students' emotional state is in moderate intensity, the influence of neuroticism on scores of complex reasoning is not obvious; but when the students' emotional state is in high intensity, this influence is obvious. For the students whose emotion is stabile, the influence of emotional states on scores of complex reasoning is not obvious; but for the students whose emotion is not stabile, this influence is obvious. (3) The influence of neuroticism on time of complex reasoning is not obvious, but the influence of emotional states on time of complex reasoning is obvious. (4) When the students' emotional state is in moderate intensity, the influence of neuroticism on achievements of complex reasoning is not obvious; but when the students' emotional state is in high intensity, this influence is obvious. For both the students whose emotion is stabile and the students whose emotion is stabile, the influence of emotional states on achievements of complex reasoning are obvious; but these influences'manifestations are different.
