He did not only make his paintings excellently prominent, but also contributed a lot to the painting theory. His creation and his theory stand for the coherence from meticulous painting to literati painting. Zhao Mengfu's "Tiao Liang Tu", a classic work of light color meticulous figure painting, symbolize a successful connect between the literati painting view and the meticulous figure painting. He incorporated the literati painting view into the creation of figure paintings only to make his new contribution to the development of figure paintings. This would make traditional Chinese paintings throw away the stereotype and step into a new development stage, in which the figures in the paintings of the Ming and the Qing Dynasty appeared more flexible and more emotional than before, whether in light color or in heavy color. Zhao Mengfu's painting idea and artistic view make it possible for us to develop modern figure painting into a new stage. We should try our best to take in the elite of the traditional Chinese figure painting, comprehend deeply Zhao Mengfu's views on painting and pursue a style of high antique and elegance to make contributions to the development of Chinese light color meticulous figure painting.
