Mengfu Zhao "Melting The Calligraphy Into Painting" Painting Thought Research

Calligraphy and painting as a traditional Chinese culture has been spread for thousands of years, they also appear in China at the same time. Wisdom of the people invented calligraphy and painting. They use the same tools to promote civilization and progress, from the initial usage of recording to be their culture part. Inner connection and interaction between them has been a worthy of thinking and exploration of the topic since ancient times. Nowadays, literati painting emphasizes the Chinese calligraphy. What was'melting the calligraphy into painting'? The history Public opinions are divergent. One of Zhao Mengfu's poems make most people recognize that he is the creator of 'melting the calligraphy into painting'. The author has the same idea with these people, but not only because of his poems inscribed on paintings. In this paper, the author discussed a combination of "old-fashioned" ideology in different historical environment. The author also make a more comprehensive analysis on Zhao Mengfu's painting skill about trying to "to the development of calligraphy into painting" painting.This article can be divided into five parts.The first part is about'The development of melting the calligraphy into painting'thoughts makes the brief outline, begin with the early history of the recognitions of'melting the calligraphy into painting', and then analyze development of paintings thoughts before the Yuan Dynasty, in Yuan Dynasty and after Yuan Dynasty.The second part is the main part of this paper. The author analyze Zhao Mengfu's paintings thoughts. These thought are the relationships of melting the calligraphy into painting between'old-fashioned'ideology, Liti, Shiqi and all kinds of paintings. Through the deep analysis,the author conclude personal point of view:after long development,the history of Chinese painting during the Yuan Dynasty, current affairs makes Zhao Mengfu could no longer inherited the style of the Southern Song Dynasty. The literati painters could like to express their minds, so the literati paintings became popular. The development of painting is due to the painters in those times.In order to be different, painters did not take painting as a major. These painters took painting as games. So painters were pursuing to focus the feelings above the calligraphy, and they transferred the painting arts into completely and literately innovation. In Yuan Dynasty, the literati painter were all good at calligraphy, so they were able to adapt writing to painting. Based on these conditions, the literati painters were prone to write on papers,not only painting.'Melting the calligraphy into painting'became a symbol of high level ideology of painters in Yuan Dynasty.The third part of this paper is to analyze the lines,stuff, feelings of paintings in Zhao MengFu's work, in order to emphasis the main point of this paper. The fourth part of this paper is to demonstrate the influences of melting the calligraphy into painting, and its contributions to Chinese paintings. Finally, the author make a short summary.
