Mr. Pang Xungqin is a famous painter, art and craft artist, art educator in later modern China.Mr. Pang Xunqin began his real art career from the modern art cosmopolitan— — Paris. When he was in Paris he was influenced by various art trends. He engaged in modern painting finally. The art career in Paris opened up his art career in exploring modernism and folk art. He only made research on the construction of national, folk. He also opened a new leaf from characteristics of abstract national folk art ,absorbing and practicing of Chinese folk art.By 1939, Mr. Pang Xunqin trudged to the ethnical minorities of south west China to experience the local folk art. He also collected the local patterns of paper cutting and folk crafts. The Study which Mr. Pang Xunqin focuses on Chinese folk art helps a lot to the understanding of traditional folk art and the progress of his painting ideology. With this treasure experience, he created a lot of modern painting works with Chinese folk characteristics which expanded the way and form of oil painting in expression of Chinese folk art spirit.Pang Xunqin's painting experience expands way to make modern fine art favored with national characteristics and in all-around ways. It makes great significance to the development of Chinese modern fine art.This paper analyses characteristics of Mr. Pang Xunqin's art genre. This paper also explores great influence and contribution in amalgamation of Western and Chinese painting art.
