| Taoism ceremony music and Christianity ceremony music not only manifests their respective religion characteristic, but also manifests the different characteristic between the East and West music culture tradition and thought. The comparison research between the two carries on the system has the important development significance in the musicology and the religious study research area. In the whole comparison, this article chooses the historical development link to conduct the comparison research, which has tow reasons: firstly, the noticeable characteristic of a sacred music is that it is one kind of music phenomenon which has greatly strengthened historical continuous nature, therefore, the comparison of the historical development is often to be the most important link in the whole comparison research; secondly, the whole comparison will involve rich content, but the length is limit, so the only method is to stress some link which will be able to have the breakthrough. Although the history phenomenon of the two teaches music both have similar and different, have the general character and the individuality, generally speaking, these contents will all bring into line with the field of vision which will elaborate to this article. But because the difference during the whole comparison is quite obvious, however difference is the aspect which is easier to see the own values of the nationality sacred music and its cultural context, it will enables us to deepen understanding why China and the West music have the different appearance and charm in the shape style and the idea. Thus, while making the similarities and differences comparison, this article attach importance to the comparison and the understanding of difference. Through the understanding and the analysis of "difference", it may make us understand these two teach music deeply, but also may make us understand the different characteristic of the East and West music culture tradition and thought deeply. |
